April IS, 1945 Union Pacific Railroad Company, 422 West Sixth St., Los Angeles, California. Gentlemen: Attention: Frank Strong We propose to furnish all supervision, labor, material and equipment to con­struct the two and one-half million gallon reservoir as shown on Union Pacific drawings, Nos. 4079S, 40790, 40791, 40986, 40822, 40792, 41002, 40800, 40728 and 40877, for the guaranteed ttirtH mum sum of $109,863.00. This includes a fixed fee in the amount of $9,987.00. We have based our estimate upon these drawings and the following conditions: 1. Free transportation of materials, on the Union Pacific Railroad Company’s lines, from the Los Angeles yards to Las Vegas, Nevada. 2. Temporary water service, for use during construction, furnished to 1die site by Union Pacific Railroad Company. 5. Temporary electric power furnished to the site by Union Pacific Railroad Company for use during construction. 4. 24" cast iron filling pipe and 36” cast iron discharge pipe fur­nished by the Union Pacific Railroad Company and installed by Mc­Neil Construction Co. 5. Omission of eave trough around reservoir roof and omission of 4" drains and head walls connecting to eave trough. 6. Excavation work calculated using 7gr' cut instead of the 4' cut as shown on the drawings. 7. Omission of settling basin and appurtenances. 8. Use of 3000-pound per square inch concrete throughout. 9. One layer of asphalt and fabric waterproofing on interior of ex­terior walls. 10. Exterior painting only. 11. Electrical work not included.
