I agree.m II - \ ' -• #Y'' Los Angeles, January 20, 1941* R-070-42 Mr. G, I. Ashby: Referring to our conversation regarding Mr. Bracken* s recommendation for the purchase of the 80-acre parcel of land belonging to the estate of Helen Hagel and located east and somewhat south of our water development In Las Vegas: As you have already noted from previous reports by Mr. Greene and Taylor & Taylor, this parcel of land is somewhat outside of what we consider the attractive water-producing area and its only value to us would be to prevent drainage against our present holdings. Should we start purchasing lands with the idea of drainage protection in mind, it would be necessary for us to make very large expenditures for that purpose, which I feel could not be justified. I am quite in accord with your procedure of taking no action in this matter. I am returning herewith your file which you handed me on Saturday. FS W. U f JAN 2 0 1947
