Los Angeles, February 11, 1942 7334 Mr. B. H. Prater} As requested In your mallgram D-871 of January 30th, file LA-20-6, I am enclosing herewith the following prints? Ho. 1 - Showing proposed location of additional 10" water line along Clark Street, between Main and Third Streets, Las Vegas, Nevada, authorized under LVL&W W. 0. 439. No. 2 - Showing location of proposed extension along Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, authorized under LVL&W W. 0. 437. No. 3 - Showing location of proposed.main to serve McNeil housing project, Las Vegas, authorized under LVL&W W. 0. 437. No. 4 - Showing location of two additional wells and pipe lines as contemplated at the time we recommended authority for additional facilities at Las Vegas, authorized under LA&SL W. 0. 2013. The pipe lines shown on print No. 4 were designed to handle the water we anticipated would be developed by Wells Nos. 7 and 8 to the settling basin. When it appeared • that the increasing demand for water at Las Vegas would possibly exceed the amount provided for, we requested authority to drill two additional wells to be located In the southerly portion of the SEi of Section 31, T. 20 S., R. 61 E., In the vicinity of Charleston Road, the exact location to be determined after Wells 7 and 8 have been drilled, in addition, we propose to Install pump on Well No. 4. As the pipe lines authorized under W0-2013 could not handle the Increased volume of water, It was necessary to redesign the pipe lines from Wells 7 and 8 to provide sufficient capacity to handle the additional water to be developed, and we have included in our supplemental budget recommendation, as set forth in my letter to you dated February 6th, sufficient additional appropriation to construct the pipe line indicated on attached Map No. 5, together with necessary collecting lines to the two additional wells for which authority was requested. Incident to the construction, of pipe lines under W0-2015, we propose to relocate and rearrange a portion of the 10" and 12" pipe line now serving Well No. 4.
