% (J L Los Angelas, February 29, 1928. 9215-355 Mr. R. L. Adamsons In reply to your le tte r of the 27th instant f i l e 20-6 I quote below extract from memorandum prepared in the President's o ffic e pertaining to 1928 Budget Item 68. Determination “This should be programmed and the reservoir only built in 1928. The item has been reduced from #178,000 to #71,000 to cover the re se rv o ir." My le tte r of the 21st instant was based upon above information, but i f there is any question as to items to be included in the Form 30 submission fo r an appropriation of #71,000 I would suggest that you take it up with Mr. Mann as he no doubt furnished segregated cost estimate fo r consideration of President Gray. It would probably be impracticable to provide a new reservoir without gravel f i l t e r at intake also a proper outlet to the existing water main. ^ ri TT, ^AH 1 i fefc 8 ' F. H. Knickerbocker
