    BCC - LEM Los Angeles, September 26, 1952 7 5 M Mr. P. 0* Martin - Los Angeles Referring to recent studies on the question of development of Independent supply of miter for Railroad Co* purposes at Las Vegas, Nevada: At Mr* Reinhardt*s request, 1 have furnished him the attached "Estimate of Cost to drill a Stand-by Well and provide pump, etc* in vicinity of Shop Well at Las Vegas", dated Sept* 18, 1952* Please note that Z have estimated the cost of a 16" well with a 500 GFM, 8-Stage, Turbine Pump, using same drawdown and pump setting as existing well, together with 50 H* P. motor capable of lifting water to top of tank* The estimate for well was obtained from Mr. Barber of Barber & Bridge Brilling Corp* of 3020 Empire St*, Burbank, Calif, Estimate for pump and panel was obtained from Mr, Thompson of Byron Jackson Co* Estimate for pump house was based on a 10 * x 1 2 * cinder block, and since location of well is indefinite at the present time, I have shown lump sums for balance of work, such as Power Lines, etc*, Valves, Fittings, and Pipe Lines. With regard to the pump, I have also received a quotation of #3867 from Hr* Clark of Wlntroath Pumps, Inc* at 1100 Meridian Ave*, Alhambra, Calif*, which is on the same basis as B* J. Co. bid as to pump setting, etc*, but provides for a 4 KA 10 turbine pump, 8" column, 2-|" tubing, 1/1" shaft, air line, 10*8" suction, and 5 stages 12" pump, instead of 8 stages of 10" pump per B*J*Co* This Wlntroath pump also has a surge control valve which is an exclusive Wlntroath feature* Copy of descriptive leaflet attached for your Information.
