    Las Vegas - June 18, 1953 1 23-1-120 W 23-4-6 MEMORANDUM The secondhand 4® pipe used in ¥.0. 731, covering construction of water line in the alley between 1 3 th street and 14th Street, extending from Stewart Avenue to Ogden Avenue was removed from the streets by order of the City of Las Vegas in connection with revision of street grades and was not replaced. This pipe was part of the line formerly owned by the old 14th Street. Water Company which served the 14th Street Addition and which went out of business years ago. ihe Las Vegas Land and Water Company served the lines of the former 14th Street Water Company for several years through a meter but after correspondence with the Public Service Comm­ission, the Las Vegas Land and Water Company was authorized by the Public Service Commission in their letter of July 20, 1942 (our File ¥ 23-4-6} to provide service direct to cus­tomers taking service from the old 1,4th Street Water Company through the lines formerly owned by that company. The lines formerly owned by the 14th Street Water Company are still partially in use and the water company claims title to them by prescriptive right. No formal title was ever secured for these lines and none of them were ever capitalized and the portion of the part removed by order of the City as indicated above, is used in this Work Order and will be capitalized at an appr&1 sed value of 5C?: or .60 per lineal foot* LRM/tp L« R* Maag
