Second:' Owing to hie dutiee with Union Pacific, Mr. Mali ie not able to properly look after the operation of this rotary rig, and it has been losing money. He proposes to sell the rig after this year's contrasts have been completed. It has always been the opinion of our deologist that an exploration well should be drilled to a lower depth to determine if more producing horizons exist. There is a geological possibility of developing good producing strata under the present gOO* horizon, and in this supplemental budget recommendation 1 am asking for authority to drill the proposed new 600 * well to a depth of 1 ,^50* for exploration purposes. The cost thereof will bo approximately $3,000 in excess of the cost of drilling to 600*. If a new producing horizon is developed we can test it out and either produce therefrom or seal it off for future use. Pipe is scares, but appears to be available at this time. In recommending two additional wells I am including estimate of the cost of pipe lines with the thought that this material can be placed in stock and used as and when needed. It might be impossible to secure this material in 19^3 * In accordance with the above, I submit supplemental budget recommendation as follows: Raise walls of settling basin 2 feet - - - - ~ t 650 Additional booster pump with valves and fittings ----------- -------- -- 16 ^50 Pump on Well No. k - - - - 3 $00 Drill one 500* well with p u m p ---- ------- — 1,6 700 Drill one 600* well, exploring to 1 , 2 5 0 * ---- 16 000 Pipe lines to handle additional production fro® Well No. k and production from the two new wells, to be known as No. f and No. 10 - - - - - - --------------------- * * ,2 ,fr,.ioa Total - - - - -----------$ 60,500 form 30 data for the supplemental recommendation is attached hereto, and we ask that early authority may be secured so that E.
