Las ?egaa « February Id , 1950 If 23-1- Kr, Hi* Reinhardt* With futhar reference to ay letter August 10til recommending three major extensions, the first of which has been completed under Work Order 625# being the transmission line on •A* and Oakey to relieve the inadequate pressures in Huntrldge. 1 believe we should now give our attention to the second item which contemplates an extension of the eadsting 12-lnch main on Stewart, and 6-lnch laterals to serve the Xktix Street Addition. This is the location where wc rooeived a large niaaber of complaints during the water shortage last summer, and the situation has become further aggravated by the larger number of houses recently constructed in the Church and the Solditt Additions east of XSth Street between Stewart and Ogden* t attach a summary showing 129 houses in 3SHA being served from the s f line north of Karlin: and 172 hous houses being served by a h* line south of Marlin, or a total of 301 houses served fro® two lines. Last' veCk when we were flushing out the new mains la the Church Addition our portable pump which has a capacity of 250 OPM easily handled all the water discharged from the line. 1 estimate the 301 houses will require 500 OPM to adequately supply them this summer, and it our recommendation for extension of the 12-inch transmission line to Bruce Street is approved we should then be in & position to make a JO0 ft. further extension in Stewart Street to connect with Slock 1, Church Addition. Mill appreciate your concurrence in Stewart Street extension so the work can be gotten under way before the heavy demand starts In spring. Print and estimate were attaohed to my letter August loth.
