Petersen, General Contractor, Salt Lake City, plans to construct 25 bouses in a new subdivision on Charleston Boulevard just west of our stock yards loop track and makes application for extension of water mains into the tract under the, provisions of Buie 9-A* I enclose herewith application from Mr. Petersen in which he offers to Install the main complete for $3045.00, Instead of advancing the estimated cost as has been the practice. I enclose also an independent estimate which I compiled which Is very close, after excluding the percentages for contingencies and overhead, both of which would be eliminated if he furnished the labor and material himself. He has cleared off the land preparatory to starting construction of the houses and if you: approve of this arrangement will you kindly request work order authority. I enclose print showing lay­out of the tract and proposed location of the sain, which, however, should be east of the center line of Desert Lane instead of west thereof, as a sewer line will be laid on the west side of the street.
