L&s Vegas - January 14, 1948 W 23-1-44 My. Frank Strongs Thera are 2 locations in the ll «v# we should plan to axtand our wate rC imtayi wnsh ertehi sI ybeaar, in ordar to provide adequate service. * The first location la the alley between Adams and Washington on the Weataide from "H* to “A* Street, whioh is the only remaining alley of that length where we have no water main. This consists of 7 blocks which are very well occupied with houses, all of whioh are served from off-line connections with small service lines whioh are inadquate to afford the required service and which leak from time to time resulting in complaints from the Qifcy* 1 attach traoing showing the location referred to together with 8" line on "A* Street to afford a circulating system, which is in line with the plan we agreed to at the time the Public Service Commission asked us to install water system in the HFM&M and Valley View Addition# eeveral years ago. Also estimate of ooet, whioh you will note amounts to $12,070*00, and re-cap of revenues we now receive from these blccke, $1989.00, per year. The second location we should plan to adequately serve with water mains is in Pioneer Heights Addition, between 10th and 12th Streets south of Bridger. T^ere are about 25 houses scattered throughout these 6 block* with several additional houses and apartments under construction and more apartments contemplated as soon as water servioe is available. Xou will note from map of our 01ty water mains that this is the last logical astension to the East, to keep pace with the development of the Gity. I attach traoing showing the existing mains and parnodp porseesde netx teannsniuoanls retvoegneutehse,r w$i84t9h. 0e0s.timate of cost. $8,310, While it is true that the pipe company is still quoting 12 months delivery on oast iron, we have about 6000 feet on order from last year, whioh I anticipate will be received early this year, and we can very well utilize It in these two locations.
