Mr. Frank Strong! ( oc - Mr. I, S. Bennett Mr. O, M. Gory) wo- 568 authorises construction of water steins in Block 4 of Mayfair Tract #2, under Mule 9-A, for Oon-tractor Horace Shidler. He has been endeavoring for the past year to straighten out the matter of easements so pipe line can toe constructed to serve the houses already constructed in that subdivision. Please see Mr. Bennett*s letter November 19* file 36-15, and my letter November 21 regarding easements provided for public utilities In the recorded map filed covering this subdivision. Mr. E. A. Clark, one of the original subdividers, is now deceased and the remaining partner, 1. A, Honrath, has acquired his interest in the property. Mr. Honrath does not feel that he can properly grant an easement to the Water Company over the 10* strips of land that he has previously dedicated for public use. We have, therefore, obtained from him a letter interpreting the dedication of these easements, which were Intended for installation of water lines, pole lines and other utilities and this letter is hereto attached. Will you kindly confer with Mr. Bennett and advise if this will be adequate for our requirements. In this connection, Mr. ahidler advises he has conferred frequently with Mr. and Mrs. George A. Griffith, owners of Lot 3 in H o c k 4 over which we intended to construct the line to a connection at the south end of Lewis Street, but they are opposed to granting him an easement. X have also conferred with them and they feel that a water main through their lot would Injure the re-sale value of thei: property. Under the circumstances, would It be agreeable to change the design of proposed water main, eliminating the 120* strip through the lot? We will, of course, have a circulating system anyway by installing the east and west lateral along the northerly edge of Lots 34 - 37, inclusive. Las Vegas - Mar oil 22, 1948 W 2 > l - 2 0 - B A. M.
