Laa Vegas * March 25# 1948 W 18-4-7 Mr. Frank Strongs Fire Protection Engineer 0. Roberts, after inspection of LVL&W 0o. property at has Vegas February 27th and 28th, suggested that, •Consideration should be given to Installing an alarm system to alert guests in the event of emergency. Push button control should be looated just outside the door to the Housekeeper's quarters and alarm bells should be looated on the vail at the vest end of each upstairs corridor and on the wall in the lobby down stairs on the ground floor. This recommendation also applies to the rooming house*. After careful consideration of the suggestion, and thorough discussion vlth the City Fire Chief, X do not believe the installation is warranted. We have a housekeeper on the property at all times, and a telephone on the premises, and in oast fire broke out in both wings simultaneously there would be ample warning from the fire-engine sirens without help from the alarm gongs. The only place in town I know of where the alarm gongs are used lit in the sohools. Will appreolate the benefit of your advise. A. M. Folger
