I agree.H 45 May 10, 1948 Hr. J. M. Murphy City Manager Las Vegas, Nevada Bear Mr. Murphys Confirming our telephone conversation todays UPBR Agreement Audit A-54016 covers standby electric service to the Glty Police and Fir# Alarm devices, which agreement expires August 28, 1952. We have discontinued the operation of our power plant in the Ballroad yard and now purchase power from the same source as the City, that Is, Southern Nevada Power Company. We have a steam-turho generator which could be fired up In an emergency, but It would take some time to get the steam-turbo In operation and If the City desires the standby arrangement to remain In effect, It will be necessary to amend the agreement to release the ftallroad Company from liability during the time required to put the generator into operation. In view of the few power outages that have ocoureA in the City during the past winter and the fact that the Southern Nevada Power Company can promptly switch to the Pioche line when these outages occur, I am also wondering if you would prefer to terminate the agreement. Very truly yours, iriTKIgtr
