a 2-?e Las Vegas * May 22, 1943 Mr. Frank Strong! Lease Audit Mo. A-4S32B, In favor of Nevada Emergency Relief Administration covers a site on Clark Avenue, and expiree October 9, 1943. The NERA was a successor of the PWA, a Federal Government Agency and the site was used for relief of transients prior to the War. Both the PWA and NERA are fading from the picture and their obligations will be taken over by local county authorities. Chairman Earl, in the County Commissioners1 Hosting yesterday, advised me they have a proposition under way to purchase on behalf of Clark County the building on this site, intending to use one of them for Old Age Relief and Child Welfare Assistance; another for a Juvenile Home, and the remainder of the building will be used for care of soldiers on week end visit% and can also be utilised for air raids in case of emergency. However before the county purchases these buildings they would like some assurance from us that they will not be Immediately required to move them off the property, and ho asks for a five-year lease of this site. This site is located a considerable distance west of the end of our spur track and in view of the raet that the situation is casing up considerably here for site applications, t recommend the five-year lease be granted to the County of Clark. Will you kindly advise If you concur. l E f r i r w eo - Mr. Charles Adams Mr. A. c. Ritter
