Box 1445 January 3rd 1 9 5 2 Mr. E. E. Bennett, General Solicitor / i / Union Pacific Railroad Company 422 West Sixth Street Los Angeles 14 California Dear Mr. Bennett: Pursuant to a telephone call from Mr. Thomas A. Campbell this morning, I am sending you in answer to your letter of December 20 a condensed drawing of the lands of Las Vegas Land and Water 'Company extracted from your own Exhibit "N" in the recent water rate hearing under I and S Docket 127, Nevada Public Service Commission. You will find thereon the total of 679.42 acres of "Water-bearing Lands" as designated by your engineer Mr. Wehe. In addition, the acreage for the right-of-ways comes to 19.85 additional. These acreages have not been technically checked by us. A carbon copy of a letter from the State Engineer of Nevada recommends that the Water District acquire all the water-bearing lands, and is enclosed for your information, and his idea of the need thereof. The local Board of Realtors has appointed a Committee of their members to study and appraise the value of this acreage. It is believed that this Committee will be functioning during this coming week with first a briefing of the company*s testimony on real estate as found in the transcript of the rate hearings. Trusting that this covers the information desires, and with best wishes for the New Year, Yours very truly, Howard F. Clark 2 incls. Chief Engineer and Manager, Map cc of letter #
