    Frank Strong denied here to­day he planned to resign from the Nevada Colorado river com­mission as an aftermath of dir­ect criticism by the Las Vegas Valley water district of a break­down in negotiations'for the Bas­ic Magnesium water system. Published reports had quoted Strong, named to the: board by Governor Charles . Russell ear­lier this year, assaying he was [considering giving up his post. !. “ I’m not resigning from the commission under any circum­stances^' Strong told the United Press. “ I dpn’t think there’s any­thing to rekign..over,” Referring to the present wat­er contract situation, Strong! .said, “ I don’t think it’s insur­mountable. There’s a lot of con- ! fusion right now but I think we’ll be able to worfc something out.” lip said he didn’t blame the i water district directors, fori ‘ ‘blowing up.” “ They’ve been at this thing' for quite a while,” he continued. “ Many promises have been made which haven't been ful- i I filled. The district apparently i s ; ; tired of going from one proposalj : to another without any definite j ? results.” j, . , ; r , jjg v 'j J He said he favored a trip by the full commission and the wat­er district spokesmen to Wash­ington to talk with General Ser­vices Administrator Jess Lar­son in person to see if a'solu­tion to the water system, trans­fer problem could not be, work­ed Out. He suggested one “ excellent solution” to the entire BMI prob­lem might be to sell the entire .plant site and ail its facilities to the present industrial lessee's there, including the water sys­tem. The lessees might form a holding company or some sort of parent corporation for that purpose. But Strong admitted he did not know if this could be done and [if the lessees would be willing to make and offer for the BMI. property which would enable the state to pay the federal govern­ment the fu ll"124,000,000 pur­chasing price. ; Negotiations for transfer of the water system serving BMI and the Henderson townsite broket down earlier this week when the BMI lessees said they could not approve the latest contract pro­posal worked out by the com­mission and the Water district •o-
