Frank Strong denied here today he planned to resign from the Nevada Colorado river commission as an aftermath of direct criticism by the Las Vegas Valley water district of a breakdown in negotiations'for the Basic Magnesium water system. Published reports had quoted Strong, named to the: board by Governor Charles . Russell earlier this year, assaying he was [considering giving up his post. !. “ I’m not resigning from the commission under any circumstances^' Strong told the United Press. “ I dpn’t think there’s anything to rekign..over,” Referring to the present water contract situation, Strong! .said, “ I don’t think it’s insurmountable. There’s a lot of con- ! fusion right now but I think we’ll be able to worfc something out.” lip said he didn’t blame the i water district directors, fori ‘ ‘blowing up.” “ They’ve been at this thing' for quite a while,” he continued. “ Many promises have been made which haven't been ful- i I filled. He suggested one “ excellent solution” to the entire BMI problem might be to sell the entire .plant site and ail its facilities to the present industrial lessee's there, including the water system. The lessees might form a holding company or some sort of parent corporation for that purpose.
