    40. Las Vegas Air Force Base - During the first part of 1949 the population of the Air Base was estimated at 3,000 persons. The annual average water consumption for all purposes was estimated at 0.55 MOD, or about 185 gallons per capita per day. Future consumption probably will not vary appreciably from this figure The estimated water consumption, therefore, is as follows: 1950 1970 2000 Population 3,000 6,500 12,000 Total Water Consumption-MG-D 0.55 1.20 2.22 Henderson Industrial Area - The annual average domestic water consumption for the Henderson area for the year 1949 Is estimated at 2.07 MOD. The popula­tion in this area is estimated at 6,400 persons, re­sulting in a per capita water consumption of 320 gallons per day. Residential cooling in this area is done entirely by evaporative coolers. Private lawns are also being developed. This probably accounts for the large per capita water consumption. It is assumed that in its future development the nature of this area will remain largely unchanged. Additional private
