    33. Las Vegas, the water sold by this company does not repre­sent the total amount of ground water used therein. With­in an area of approximately 22 square miles, including the Incorporated areas of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, there are on record 262 producing wells, of which only 19 can be considered as public supplies. The remaining 243 wells are classified as "industrial, domestic, and irriga­tion". (Unused wells and observation wells have been omitted). These data show the magnitude of private water supply producing facilities in the Las Vegas area. 7.2 Present Water Consumption - For the determination of water consumption within the District limits, the District has been broken down into the same areas as were used in the population studies. In addition, the "Tule Springs" area is included. A breakdown of the estimated consumption for 1948 is as follows:
