J ohn C. Luthin CAMPBELL REALTY CO. WATER UTILITY ENGINEERING ^MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTING | ai'ilUI’M(NAGEMENT 1113 LAURENT STREET SANTA CRUZ, CALIFORNIA TELEPHONE SANTA CRUZ 2874J February 26, 1954 Mr. Thomas A. Campbell President of the Board of Directors Las Vegas Valley Water District 135 South Fourth Street Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Mr. Campbell: Upon the suggestion of Mr. William Reinhardt I am writing to you with reference to the position of manager of the Las Vegas Valley Water District. The position would aopeal to me if I were allowed the privilege of continuing my consulting work on a limited basis. At present I am managing a water utility serving about 3»000 customers and conducting an engineering and management consulting service to water utilities in various parts of the State. My consulting work seldom takes me away from the water company office more than a day at a time and the arrangement has been satisfactory to all parties concerned. My present net income from all sources is somewhat in excess of the vi2,000 salary proposed for the Las Vegas position and I would like to have some means of earning the difference and believe that a reasonable arrangement could be worked out to our mutual benefit. My thought is that our agreement would state my duties to the district If a working arrangement such as I have outlined above might be acceptable to your board I will be pleased to make the trip to Las Vegas to discuss the matter further. Enclosed is a statement of ray aualifications and experience. Also enclosed is a copy of a report which I recently prepared for the City of San Luis Obispo which may be of interest to you. and would set forth a limited part of the work week which I could, if the consulting work is available, devote to my private practice. I Very truly yours,
