/ Los Angeles - June 17* 1953 Mr. L.R. Maag: cc: Mr. Win. Reinhardt Mr. Reinhardt sent me clippings from the Review Journal of June 15th being Proclamation by Mayor C.D. Baker requiring sprinkling of lawns etc. on specific days depending upon the location of the premises. I note you have drawn attention to an error in the publication which I understand is to be corrected. I think it might be well, when the Proclamation is republished in corrected form, that you check with the Review Journal and see if you could not get about one thousand of the slips and as soon as they have been received give one to the people who come in to pay their water bills. These legal notices are not ordinarily read by the average person in a city and it is quite possible they would not be familiar with this Proclamation although it has been given publicity in other parts of the papers. Although I realize one thousand of these notices would not cover your entire list of water consumers, I think it would be quite a help as undoubtedly some of these people will talk about this notice with their neighbors and it will be given much more publicity than it would otherwise have. I am assuming the cost will not exceed $50.00 for one thousand of these slips if they are furnished when the type is still set up by the Journal. Mr. Reinhardt has authorized an expenditure of approximately that sum for the purchase and subsequent distribution of these slips. . E. Bennett
