uiruv.iwi L»s Angeles &4 SSaaHH LLaakke. RRaaiillrrooaadd.. Los Angeles, Cal. Nov. 19, 1919. Mr. W.R.Bracken, Las Yegas, Nevada. Dear Walter Mr. Farnsworth has sent us tax hill for the current year which includes Lot 7, Block 5, which was sold to Nora E.Hickey. Sometime ago you advised that this had been cut off from the assessment roll. this bill except the lot above referred to. Will you kindly take this matter up with Mr. Farnsworth and see about getting the item cut out, or, it would be satisfactory if Mrs Hickey would send us her check before we voucher the bill and we will include it in our payment. I do not like to pay the taxes on that lot due to the fact that the same is deeded and we might encounter difficulty in securing refund. However, I want to take whatever action would be agreeable to Mr. Farnsworth and still protect our interests. I would like to have the bill back at your earliest convenience so that we can prepare the voucher. I asked Mr. Farnsworth for a list of all the different levies, for bounty and other purposes, in Clark County and he replied by saying the rate was on each bill. The rate he referred to was the total rate and was not what I should have to make the proper check, and I would appreciate it very much if you will send me a correct statement of all the different levies for the different funds for the current year. I would like to pay the taxes included in Yours very truly, WF General R/W & Tax Agent.
