Saturday over the r a ilr o a d ta x s itu a tio n and i t was decided th at Adams and I have a conference Tuesday at San F ra n c is c o w ith the S',P. and W.P, ta x o f f i c i a l s . I t was then thought a d visa b le that I go out th at n ig h t and t r y and get a lin e on the' s itu a tio n in Nevada. I l e f t here Saturday n ig h t, spent Monday in Carson and returned the same evening. We had a conference Tuesday at San F ra n c is c o . I was in hopes of fin d in g Mr. M cTierney, the S .P . ta x agent in Carson or Reno, but I m issed him, I d id not d isc u ss ta x m atters at a l l before the Commission, but q u ie tly interview ed the members w ith a view of a s c e rta in in g t h e ir a ttitu d e , i f p o s s ib le . The s itu a tio n in Carson is the same as when we were th e re . The State Board of E q u a liz a tio n i s h o ld in g meetings but they don’ t seem to be doing an yth ing. In f a c t , whatever i s to be done I take i t w i ll be done before the Tax Commission at t h e ir re g u la r meeting to be h e ld on October 1 s t.
