(0 0 P Y) Las Vegas, Nevada, July 3, 1929« Hr* Carl Gray, President, U .P.R .R ., Omaha, Nebraska. My dear S ir: We, Mr. and Mrs, J. Mink, are making application fo r a plot of ground on North Main Street adjoining creeks. This footage is located in what is known as Brookside Park. There is a notice posted, and signed by Mr. Walter Bracken on the 6th and 7th day of May, 1929, that Mr. Thomas R* Conava was the lessee o f said land and was making a l l improvements on said land. I t is very w ell advertised with large posters on the buildings, c a llin g the public attention that the land might be leased for temporary homes, and signed by Thomas R* Conava, Mgr. Also it is advertised in Las Vegas papers and I w ill send you a clipping o f today1 s. I w ill send you a duplicate of a receipt signed by Mr. Conava. Now what I want to say is this: We are an old couple, Mr. Mink being nearly seventy years old and p a rtia lly crippled and I am no longer young. We are making our liv in g by home baking - supplying two stores and many homes with r o lls and p ies, baking up 100 pounds o f flo u r a week, paying cash fo r a l l supplies, I have proof of this - b i l l s of sale from the stores. Report has it that on the 2nd of July Mr. Warren Woodard bought this lease from Mr. Canova, and Mr. Woodard has already ordered us o f f the land. We moved the building here and want to bu ild a store front, and we crave your attention and indulgence
