Kr. Franklin T, Hamilton Page 3 January 18, 195^ Is only interested in the executed originals of Rule 9 Contracts where there are outstanding unrefunded amounts due at the time of the sale date, and the District has no Interest in such Rule 9 Contracts as have beenpald off by refunds or under which no refunds are due because of the time limit of ten years in such contracts. I believe you have a copy of one of these Rule 9 Contracts and know that they provide for refunds for a period of ten years, unless prior to the end of the ten-year period the refunds have cleaned up any outstanding obligation to refund under the terms of the contract. In connection with these Rule 9 Contracts, as you know, some of them lave been assigned to banks and other people and refunds are being made direct to such third parties rather than to the original party to the contract, and I presume you will want the originals of such assignments. After you have had a chance to review the provisions of Section 1 of Exhibit G, and the references therein to the basic contract, I would be glad to have you advise me whether you concur in these views, or what additional contracts, etc. you think should be furnished to the District under the provisions of Exhibit G and the basic agreement, In order that 2 may have a list prepared of all such outstanding documents and send it to our auditor so that he may photostat such originals and be ready to turn over the originals to the District. Yours very truly, E. E. Bennett j|Si ISSIII SEBtps
