June 15, 1953 4966-II-283 Hr. Franklin T, Hamilton 433 South Spring Street Los Angeles 13, California cc* Hr. Thomas A, Campbell Mr. Wm. Reinhardt Mr. Calvin W, Cory Mr. L. R, Haag \/" Res Hatter of Water Service to Charleston Heights, PSCN No. 1224 Dear Franks In connection with the outstanding contract between Las Vegas Valley Water District and the railroads and the water company, X thought you might be interested in the enclosed Opinion of the Nevada Public Service Commission in the above case. In this case the transcript shows Mr, Becker is proposing to develop 315 acres with 2000 houses in territory which is geographically situated at a higher elevation than any of the water company facilities. We protested against his complaint on the ground that we did not have an adequate supply of water to furnish this new development, and secondly, that the cost thereof would be out of line at this time. At the hearing Hr. Adamson testified that from a preliminary study, facilities to properly serve Hr, Becker's property, which is West and slightly North of Hyde Park, would cost approximately $350,000,00.
