Mr. Clark, were yen employed by the City of las Vegas, in an effort to conserve water in the year 1950? A. I was* q. When did yon first go to work for the City in that capacity? A. May 1, 1950* q. And what, specifically, were your duties? A. My duties were to check the use of water and to check coolers, refrigeration machines and other cooling devlcoa, to see that the water was not being wasted, and to see if any cor­rections were made. There had been a survey made by the City and the Water Company in December and January of 19*9 and 1950, and we were given that survey to cheek to see if coolers had been equipped with pumps or to see if the necessary corrections had been made on lee machines, refrigeration machines, and units of that kind. Q. In the performance of your duties, was it necessary to travel around through the various sections of the town? A, We patrolled the streets in all sections of town, q.
