We had two officers, along with the Water Company, to conserve water! *e had the entire Police Department alertedf we had people appear In court for wasting water — one hundred people at first. Finally, cooperation was received from the people, end 1 know from observation that water was conserved to the nth degree this past summer. The reason we have e shortage, even after conserving, is that this City is growing. You heard the Building Inspector's report. Bow can you keep up with a community when you don't grow yourself? 1 daresay the Water Company and the Union Pacific haven't had a bona fide plan for the future growth of Las Vegas slnee the establishment of the Water Company and the Union Pacific Hailroad. I asked for it and 1 still would like to see Las Vegas as one of the most rapid growing cities in the West, and despite the fact that the Water Company and the Union Pacific Hailroad can't go along with the growth, this City is going to go ahead, and as a member of this Beard, I am going to do everything in my power to make Las Vegas grow.
