September 5, 1952 Las Vegas Land & Water Company 401 South Second Street Las Vegas, Nevada Attention: W. H. Johnson Acting General Manager In re: FREMONT ARCADE PARTNERSHIP dba CALIFORNIA CLUB 101-5 Fremont Street Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Sir: Reference is made to your letter dated August 29, 1952, and the accompanying Invoice No. 256, dated September 2, 1952, requesting payment in the amount of 1496*00, which you allege represents cooling water furnished for refrigeration machines for the period of January 1 to and including August 31, 1952* We dispute the basis and amount of the above mentioned invoice for the reasons set forth in our letter dated August 15, 1952 and again contend that: First: No amount is payable for the period when the cooling system is not in use* Second: It appears that the description "refrigeration machines", covers ice making equipment instead of cooling systems* Third: The rate is excessive based on the actual water consumed* Under date of August 8, 1952, we filed a letter of protest with the Public Service Commission of Nevada, and it is understood they will conduct a hearing in Las Vegas during the current month regarding the matter. We are, therefore, withholding payment of your bill until such time as we receive a decision from the Public Service Commission* CCKscj f Yours very truly, FREMONT ARCADE PARTNERSHIP dba CALIFORNIA CLUB
