Las Vegas - August 16, 1951 (cc - Mr* Wm. Reinhardt According to August lh, 1951, Daily Reports of Well Operation at Las Vega3, we had a power failure at 8;20 P*M*, as a result of which the pump motor on Well No, 10 was burnt out* As you know, this is our most productive well and as a result we have been short of water all day and at the present time 8,45 P*M* D.3*T* - August 15* 1951 - both pumps are off at the Charleston Reservoir and we are carrying only 2# pressure at the Clark St* Reservoir, It was necessary to appeal to the public by radio to eliminate sprinkling this afternoon and evening in order to reduce consumption to a minimum, but with this reduction, consumption has exceeded our curtailed production, I I am advised the power trouble was caused by a blown fuse on the Power Company side of the 3-pka.se circuit to the substation serving the Railroad Company facilities which single phased our operating circuit and resulted in the burnt out motor.
