L as Vegas, Nevada, November 17, 1921 Mr. C. C. Barry, Auditor L.A.& S.L.K.B., Los Angeles, California. Bear Sir: Referring to your letter under date of October 25th, File M-106, and Later letter of November 5th on same subject. I beg to reply as follows: The replacement of the 1740 feet of city water main will be made in kind and not of cast iron. During course of correspondence with Mr. Calvin, it was his advise that we replaoe this with redwood pipe. The 1740 feet to be replaced represents a portion of the original pipe laid in 1905 and has given us 16 years of good service. The total length of three inch wrot iron mains within the City is 6890 feet. I cannot at this time tell you exactly what portion of this was laid in 1907 and what portion in 1910, but will look this up through the engineer’s office and advise you later. Yours truly, B/H Vice-Pres. & Agt.
