Acreage sold to Last Front t o n Las Togas - Dooember 89, 1944+ Tf 1-1—3-B Mr.. Frank Strong? Fa December 1943, we sold 4 acres just north ? of tbs Olark Arenas Under-pa as to tbs Last Frontier Hotel, under WO-478, and this acreage was more recently re-sold to 0. A. Haffey wbo proposes to build a warehouse thereon. Huffey has made application for water service on this acreage, and question arises as to the best method of furnishing it. For your ready reference, I attach a sketch showing the closest water mains to this location. It is apparent that the ap roach may be made fro* one of three sources, as follows: 1* Fro® the 12-inch main running in alley back of Biltmore, theses across Forth Main Street. le offered to make Huffey a connection fro® this main, a one inch 'service.line to be extended through a culvert under forth Main Street near the north line of his property* However, the State Highway Department objected to this. It is impracticable to excavate across this highway. 3. Fro® the 4 -inch main at the intersection of Morgan Avenue and Railroad Avenue, west of the tracks. Under this method, we would make a connection at the main on Railroad Avenue and carry the service pipe 50 f«at, from which point it would be necessary to arrange wits railroad' officers for permission to Jack the pip® under the tracks, of which there are three in this vicinity* The objection to this method is that it would create a situation where industries south of the Underpass w oula be receiving water fro® the railroad lie® on & meter basis, and north of the Underpass on a flat-rate basis*
