    F. F. G a r s id e , p u b l is h e r A . E. C AH LA N , MANAGING EDITOR Southern Nevada’s Leading Daily ^firming XI3 SOUTH FIRST ST. Las Vegas, Nevada June 3,1943 Mr** Walter R.Bracken, Vice President & General Manager, Las Vegas Land & Water Company, Las Vegas Nevada* Dear Mr* Brackens €ta behalf of myself and associates, 8d W .Clark, C.S.Wengert, and A.C.Grant, I hereby make an offer to purchase the remain- der of the land owned by your company, lying between our holdings in the area known as the Biltmore Addition, and the south line of your property. This comprises approximately 2*29 acres, of dimensions approximately 200 by 520 feet* Our purpose in acquiring this property la largely to complete the beaut if ication and development of that area, and to tie it all together under plans recently completed by the city planning engineer. These plans include cutting through iforth First Street and Mesquite Street, surveys fcr which have already been completed by the city engineer* Much of the land we propose to purchase will go into these streets and will be dedicated to the oity as soon as acquired by us* Our offer is to purchase the interior section at the same rate as before, $500 per acre, and that portion fronting on North Main Street, now occupied by a junk yard, at the rate of $700 per acre* Realising the serious nature of housing in this area, and the importance of leaving your old-time employees undisturbed in the cabins at the present foot of Fir^ Street, we will agree that none will be required to move for a period of one year from date, including those on land now owned by us, except that if Mesquite and First Streets are cut through before the year is up, the cabins occupying portions of those streets will be moved to a new and satisfactory site in the same area at our expense and allowed to remain for the rest of the year* Thanking you for your early consideration of this offer, 1 am,
