A_> <A V Q-£j S Jane RsR^B Water District Decides On Land Requirements , Directors of the Las Vegas Valley Water District yesterday determined their land needs in^ conjunction with purchases of the local water utility from the Union Pacific railroad, and decided that 500 acres will be sufficient to protect wells and water rights of the system. Previously, the district had thought It would be necessary to seek title to most of the 1200 acres held by the Union Pacific subsidiary. Engineer James Montgomery was instructed to outline the needed land on maps, which will determine the final price to be asked by the railroad for the Las Vegas Land and Water Co. . Regarding the critical water system in Pittman, Water District President Thomas A. Campbell said the county was to have submitted an engineering survey of what is needed to bring the Pittman system up to efficient performance, but that the county report had not been forthcoming. o n m u r n nriTLQTft
