Butte, Montana, February 16th, 1913 Mr* B. S* Lovett, 16S Broadway, New York City* Dear 8ir,« Refarrlng to your valued favor of January 4th addressed to me, accompanied by letter of complaint fro® Mr. Sproule to Mr* Kruttschnitt arid Mr* Spence, as to the action of tho S&n Pedro 1b constructing a packing house for the Southerland Fruit Company at Riverside, I beg to enclose you herein file covering correspondence on the subject with the officials of the San Pedro. It is very evident that the Southern Pacific people were very willing to construct this packing house themselves if they had an opportunity to do so. You will observe that the Special. Con® it tee recocr ended the construction of this building and I a® satisfied that they were absolutely correct in doing so, and the difficulty is that heretofore wo have not been sufficiently aggressive, in my opinion, in the matter of construction of packing houses, and the very f&ct that we have only handled about 10"? of the citrus fruit shipments of southern California for the last several years, is ample proof of this. Pleas® return the file to my office when you have looked over the ewtee, and oblige Yours sincerely, (Fnels)
