I agree.Caving of cess pools #! Bos Angeles, Cal., April 18, 1912, Hr.E.G,Tilton, Chief Engineer, Building, Bear Sir: We have had a great deal of trouble at las Vegas on account of many of the cess pools at the houses having caved in, and recently we were advised that in addition to the cess pool for house Io,621 South Third Street having caved in, there was a leak in the drain pipe which was very serious and resulted in "the formation of a spring midway between the house and the back fence% After making considerable effort to repair this, it was found that there was an elevation in the drain pipe about twenty feet from the house, so that at that point the drain pipe was higher than it was where it left the house. It was also found that the fall from the house to the cess pool was but two tenths of a foot in a total of seventy feet, whereas, I believe that it should have been at least seven tenths of a foot, or one tenth of a foot fall for each tentfeet in distance. The pipe has now been lowered at the cess pool and made a uniform grade from the house to the cess pool, CC-Mr.W.H. Bancroft CC-Mr.J.Boss Clark Yours truly, Vice President & Aud
