Dear Sir,- We beg to acknowledge your joint letter seventeenth, Pile 503, in regard to employes1 cottages for Las Vegas, Bevada. Also enclosing designs Bos.l, 2, and 3. We have been authorised by the Board of Directors of the las Vegas Land and Water Company to construct from 25 to 60 houses, suitable for employes. After looking over your plans Carefully, wo have adopted your design Do.2 for five-room houses, to bo constructed, exterior walls six:-inch concrete, joints point ed, Beady Bock roofing or similar roofing, lath and plaster partitions, lime plaster. Your estimated cost of these without freight is #1167.91 and with freight #1169.91. It is very evident to us that you have not figured your freight correctly. While the concrete blocks will be made at Las Vegas, all of the lumber and mill work will have to come from Los Angeles on which the Las Vegas land and Water Company will have to pay tariff rates. We note that you have provided for bath tub 4 feet 6 inches. We would recommend a 5 foot tub.. .J
