S A N P E D R O , L O S A N G E L E S A N D S A L T L A K E R A IL R O A D C O M P A N Y OFFICE OF FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT W. H. BANCROFT, FIRST VIOE** PRES I DENT On Idaho Division, August 4th, 1910. Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir;* Your letter hf July 27th, with enclosures, concerning rent charged for employes houses at Las Vegas, just received. As a matter of course, if the new houses we recently put up at Las Vegas are standing idle "because employes refuse to pay the rental we are now asking, and these houses are liable to remain idle because of too high rental charge, it would seem that some revision of present scale should be considered. These are very good houses, and cost the company a considerable sum, and I do not think we are unreasonable in figuring rent on basis of five per cent interest, including depreciation, on the amount of money we have invested in them. If Mr.Clark and yourself are convinced that the proper tiling to do is to make the rental $18.00 and $20.00 per month net for the four and five-room cottages, respectively, I will concur. Yours truly, /' Myf CC-Mr.J.Ross Clark. %/
