Tilton, Chief Engineer, Los Angeles,Gal., Dear Sir:- Replying to your letter of the 24th*inst., file #599,relative to the condition of the employes’ cottages, I have to advise that all of these buildings were swept after the carpenters had completed their work,and left in neat,clean condition. Some few of them have lime marks upon the window glass hut are in far better condition than is usual in such cases. The only ones not in such condition are those which have been occupied and afterward vacated. I have put in forty hours sweeping them out. Very truly yours, (Signed) JETO. A. SHAEAHAE.
