Dear Sir:- In reply to your letter of May twenty-sixth asking what progress had been made in the development of artesian water and the cultivation of land in the vicinity of Las Vegas, I attach a report from Mr. Bracken giving all the information he could obtain as to the situation at the present time. The work that has been done there is so recent that it is hardly possible yet to tell what the ultimate result will be, but I have learned from other sources, as well as from Mr. Bracken1s report, that some men who have handled the matter with intelligence and energy, are developing very satisfactory farms through the use of this artesian water.
