I agree.C O P Y Las Vegas, lev., 16th Feb’y, 19C5. Mr. K. i. Bettis, Auditor, , :Los .Angeles, Cal if.; Dear Sir; Your letter 10th Feb’y, ’05, subject forged check on Arthur MoGuire for f68.35, 'came in to-day's mail. Was sure we talked this matter over when you were here, anyhow Lave discussed it with Mr. J.Boss Clark and had some correspondence with him about the matter. This check was presented by a saloon man here in payment for goods at the store and cashed by rays elf in presence of Mr. A.1. Jones. I knew Mr.B'eGuire and the signature was very good, but returned from the hank and Mr.MoGuire knew nothing about it until it to him; the forger had then gone. e have had this thing in Justice Court at Calient e:, Mr. Whitt mo re as attorney, ana were beaten; would appealed to Diet.Court, where I am positive we could have beaten it • but Mr.Clark told Mr.mittemor© in San Francisco not to do so but stand loss without further expense, so time for appeal has now gone by. Am sending this by Hr*.Seeman and he can explain all details to you. Yours truly, J.K.W. Bracken.
