The Sheriff of Lincoln County has appointed a deputy to be stationed at Las Vegas, but in making arrests this deputy will be obliged to take his prisoners to Calientes where the nearest Justice of the Peace is located. I wish you would arrange with Mr. Jones for the free transportation of such deputy and his prisoners from Las Vegas to Calientes and return.
