1 Y'/L ||| .19,190* Mr«C. 0.Whitt eraor e| MeCornick Block, ! , Salt Lake, Utah. Dear Hr.Uhittemore:*• You-r valued favor of the lith from rioehe just received ar.d all noted. I not© j rs.Stewart has gone to San Francisco to have her daughter sign the deed and then com© to Salt lake prepared to close the deal, ; d that you will report at once as to the title on your return, and xf the title is found good it will "be in order to make final payment and receive the deed,, unless Mr .McDermott's report on the quantity of water causes us to change our ideas as to the advisability of purchasing at present figures. From the reports received, it appears that the water is much less than was stated, also that there is much less farming land I than was stated by the Stewarts, and everything else seers to bo at ? sixes and-sevens in the-way of personal• property and from the-list'of requirements sent by : r.McDermott which will be i ccessary to carry on the ranch, it would indicate there was very little, if anything, there ;in the way of personal property. He -even suggests the purchase of some horses or:joules. I hardly know what'to recommend in the matter; will hear a ain from Mr.McDfermott no doubt very soon. There appears to be something radically wrong about the Stewarts’ representations in regard to water and land. ./1 wish you would discuss the matter with Mr.McDermott fully, si# get-his ideas what we should do in the matter before making any., definite' - set t-lerent. <:/I think Hr .McDermott had better remain in Salt Lake now until we decide one way or the other whether we will take it, or not. u- Very respectfully yours,.
