    2 wm!aRL& Mr# ArilmrMagaire* leaks and guaranteed to comply exactly with the specifications given on page 44 of our catalog * It is also specifically guaranteed for a 100 par cent overload for the pressures named# For your information will state that we have -added to the price of the pipe, delivered in Las Vegas, 6/ a foot for laying* You could do it with your crews for about 3/ a foot* We of course would have to send our superintendent and his railroad far® and expenses make up the difference but we hare given you our figures so that you can figure on a maximum cost* The continuous stave pipe figures are for the pipe erected in place, oontemplat ing that we deliver all material at Las Vegas, that you at your expense trans­port the material from the railroad station to the location of the line and distribute the material along the line handy for our workmen* It also contemplates that you supply any cradles or do any trenching that you desire for the pipe# When our work is performed we will turn over this pipe to you, built according to the specifications on page 44 of the catalog, free from leaks or defects of any material or workmanship and we will guarantee to do exactly this* It is certain that the continuous stave Is the longer lived pip© as it would be banded with 7/16 inch steel and the bands- could be replaced in case of corrosion of any particular one at very little expense, the old bands simply being removed and a new one put in its place* She machine banded pip© to be repaired would have to have a new section wherever the wire gave out on any particular section* She life of machine banded pipe is the life of the galvanizing m the wire which, under average conditions in the west where the salt fogs are absent, would be about 26 years# The life of a continuous stave pip© weudo not know for the original installations of air dried redwood pipe, of our manufacture, are still in existence and some of them are 28 years old but it is fair to estimate that it Is somewhere from 60 to 60 years* Our pipe is made entirely from clear air-dried redwood, free from any defects and it can be laid on the surface of the ground or under ground, as you elect* You can, if you place it on the surface, use your old railroad ties for cradles as this size pipe will require very little support* On account of the violent fluctuations of steel prices the prices we have given you are good today* What |fe| they will be by the time you are ready to buy a line we ©an only guess but we will revise these figures for you promptly at any time you desire* If steel lowers it will bo less, , if it rises the price will slightly increase* ;
