    much on each portion as was absolutely necessary,in order tosuf­ficient water for this summer's use on the farm. In putting in the curbing of the well,I was careful to make a solid structure that would stand any pressure that may come against it and of such shape that it can be started and sunk deeper at any time. In order to get a full supply of water for the pumps the well should be sunk to a depth of about 30 ft. below the center of the pumps and I would advise that a drift be run as shown on the plan,from the North side on a level with the bottom until sufficient water is obtained. The formation as shown by the plan is good water bearing strata and es­pecially, the lower one the water flowing in streams from the drill holes. I am certain that a drift four feet wide by five feet high as shown by the dotted lines on the plan,will give plenty of water for all purposes. The distance to the former branch of the river as shown is seventy feet and I do not think it will be necessary to run the drift any farther to,,get sufficient water. Owing to the change in plans the piping sent was only suffi­cient to little more than pipe one pump,and is in order to complete the plant there will be necessarily have to be more piping,and fittings, and so arranged that either or both pumps may be nan at the same time. I would also recommend that the present domestic pumping plant,be moved from the old location,to the new pump station,and that a line of six inch sheet steel riveted pipe well coated with asphalt,be laid connecting the tanks and pumps,my reasons for this are:- lst, The water is better and purer having to filter so much farther through the gravel fx*om the river. 2nd* It will be more economical and at the same time give a better
