7/18/52 IAS VEGAS VAILET WATER DISTRICT Report on Appraisal of Water System Owned by L. A. & S« L< Railroad and Las Vegas Land and Water Company / Scope of Report This Is a preliminary report on an appraisal of the existing water utility in Las Vegas to he used hy the District in negotiations with the Ttaion Pacific Railroad Company for possible purchase of the utility. This report shows how the District appraisal was developed and compares it with the appraisal made hy the Union Pacific. Land water rights and miscellaneous automotive, shop and other equipment and supplies on hand are included in the report. Certain amounts which should he credited to the District and various deductions are discussed in detail. General The Las Vegas Land and Water Company, which operates and wm the distribution facilities, was incorporated April 29, 1905 is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company. The Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company operates and maintaiwa the production and transmission facilities consisting of wells, springs, settling basins, reservoirs, pumping plants, collecting pipelines and transmission pipelines to the point of connection with the distribution facilities. All of these items, both the distribution facilities and the production transmission facilities, are included in the appraisal. A complete summary of the appraisals made by the District and the Union Pacific is shown in Appendix A of this report.
