They were from Belgium, and after their departure, wrote Jim a letter of appreciation, in part as fol-lows; "We thank you very much again for your very kind hospitality. We had a nice time in visiting the .hotels at night. We had a l o t o f .<335 WHEEL OF fun observing the dice gamblers. We were astonished, to sec how much money people are spending in gambling. In Belgium we also have two or three gam-bling houses—nhat we call them, 'Cas-inos', but it don't seem to mc the gam-blers over there are so excited." *** Very truly yours in Rotary J. H. Harry Miller, who is assisting the Clark County Sheriff's Office for a time (We have an inquiry What did Harry do with all the liquor he took on M s last raid on Bonanza Road? Leonard ad-vises Harry: Be careful of the West side'.) Then there were Ken Tinsley, Ed Ciliax, Max Kelch and Weary Wilson, ganged up on the grocery business of Henderson and Las Vegas. <&nd by no means the least—Ed Converse and his fast growing Bonanza AirlinesJ cP EOTARY Page 3 JOHN SEVILLE— Spent last week with Rotary Ann Helen and son Bobby at Laguna Beach. Henderson, Ambas-sador of the U.S.A. to India, said: "The atmosphere of Rotary clubs .throughout the world is so uniformly friendly and stimulating that, no patter .how remote from my otm coun-try I may be, I can never regard myself as among strangers when I am a- guest at a Rotary meeting." ****** TEE'. STRUCTURE OF ROTARY A man setting out to build a satisfactory house does not take anything for granted, nor does he put his material together in a hit or miss fashion. He works out his plan in detail, draws it to scale, sets about selecting materials of quality and hires good craftsmen. In other words, he prepared to be successful in his undertaking. So we find in Rotary. It is not a hit or miss proposi-tion, but a carefully planned structure. It is built for human lives end great charac-ters, built of noble and in-spiring thoughts, built for service, for enlightenment of civilization. Every Rotarian is a part of the material, carefully selected. So, may each "brick" do its duty in making Rotary a great struc-ture, worthy of its name. — MontlJ.y Letter of Governor Edtvard D.
