Shaping the program with Ed, Vera Willis will give us the l6w down on "Travel Agencies". * * * * * * * * LAST WEEK Dr. Alden Plumley gave a very in-teresting (and understandable) explan-ation of the causes and effects of "de-valuation" in England (and other countries). * * * * * * * * BABY ROTARIAN Jim Cashman, Jr. , "Automobile Re-tailing (Additional Active)" will be introduced today.... Welcome, Jimmy. It seems not so long ago that Las Vegas Rotary Club was celebrating the marriage of Leah and Jim, Sr. Perhaps i t ' s long^han it seems to a few of us old fossils who helped the Rotary Wheels revolve in Las Vegas in 1933. * * * * * * * * WOODY PIERCE RESIGNATION We are sorry to have Woody Pierce resign from Rotary. Due to his new business, Woody is out of town a good part of the time and cannot attend regularly. Incidentally, Woody has had 10C% attendance for several years. Ee has also been very active on the Attendance Committee. * * * * * < Jerry Dravcs has been appointed to represent L.V. Rotary in the Clark County Civic Federation (in addition .to Dick Ronzone). Innes, No.30 Crossgate, Cupar-Fife, Scotland. He enclosed two snapshots of himself and wife and their two gro?m. sons, and told many interesting things about his country, his family and current i M of Great Britain.... InRa=-, WHEEL OF ROTARY Page 3 him with a letter a copy of the "Desert Rat" and some Christmas Desert Holly from Death Valley and an account of the Centennial celebration of last Saturday in the Valley. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PRESIDENT LEN WRITES-- The Directors' meeting was held at the home of Harry Allen on Monday even-ing, to which came new members Wayne Kirch and Jim Cashman, J r . , to learn how the business of the Club is tran-sacted. Among the business considered was the acceptance of the resignation by Woody Pierce, "Elcctrical Equipment, Wholesale"; all bills were paid, leaving a treasury surplus in excess of $3,5001 and new proposals were considered and sent on to the Classi-fication Committee. After the business was transacted, Harry brought in a table heavily laden with good eats prepared by Rotary Ann Margaret; during the consumption of which "Little" Jim could not be re-strained from his joke telling. * * * * * * President Len is in receipt of a gracious greeting from the Rotary Club of Bath, Sommerset, Great Britain, where it is evidently the custom to "toast" foreign Clubs. * * * * * * All Rotarians are urged to carry home the invitation of the Club for our Christmas Party, noon, December 22nd, at the Last Frontier: dinner and favors all at Club expense. ROTARY, MY ROTAH? Thy prai3es high I love to sing, Rotary, my Rotary, My homage no^ to thee I bring, Rotary, my Rotary, With friendship, loyalty and cheer, I ' l l serve my brothers far and near, And hold thy precepts ever dear, Rotary, my Rotary. Still louder now my song 1*11 swell, Rotary, my Rotary, And make it ring o'er hill and dell, Rotary, my Rotary. May truth and honor be my goal, Exalt my life, make sweet my soul While thousands sing from pole to pol-e, Rotary, my Rotary. JINGLE, BELLS Dashing thro' the snow In a one horse open sleigh, O'er the fields we go, Laughing all the way: Bells on bob-tail ring, Making spirits bright, What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonightj CHORUS: Jingle, bells! Jingle, bellsL Jingle all the wayj Oh, what fun it is to ride In a onc-horse open sleighf A day or two ago I thought I ' d take a ride, And soon Miss Fannie Bright ii?as seated by my side; The horse was lean and'lank, Misfortune seemed his lot, He got into a drifting bank, And we, we got upsot.
