Ted will give a craft talk on the history and development of pharmacy. * * * * * * * * * * NEXT WEEK Harry Allen will be program speaker for next week's meeting. He will discuss the work of the Commit-tee of Club Service, of which he is chairman. * * * * * * * * * * LAST WEEK Program Chairman Ed Converse last week pressed Vern Willis into service to carry on the program.... Vern pro-duced a beautiful colored motion pic-ture entitled "Wings Over Mexico", which was greatly enjoyed. * * * * * * * * * * BARSTOW INVITES US The Barstow, California, Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with the Barstow Rotary Club, is sponsoring its annual Visitation Day today. The program for the day will con-sist of a tour of the larger indus-tries and scenic areas in the after-noon, and a banquet, with a speaker of note, in the evening. * * * * * * * * * * COMMUNITY CHEST Fellows, President Leonard calls your attention to the fact that the Community Chest Drive, one of the most important public movements of the year, is now on. Every Rotarian i is expected to do his full share 'promptly and cheerfully. * * * * * * * * * * * * BILL PIKE It is with profound grief that we note the passing of our good friend, Bill Pike. Yet we are sure that death came to him as a welcome relief to years of pain and misery.... Bill was one of our most faithful Rotar-ians while he was able to attend the meetings, since when, he has been kept in touch with us as an Honorary member. They hooked 14 yel-; lowtail, but landed only three .. poor i lines, they say; and to cap the climax, ; Scoop broke his fishing pole and Mike von the Jack Pot! ; Then our reporter (not Scoop, but Allye) did make a scoop! Another group of Rotarians, in eluding Jerry Crowe, Les Edwards, Doc McDaniel a.d Earl Brothers, got to-gether at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for a bit of a holiday,.. The week before the hunting season opened, they report ! that fishing was pretty good.... When it comes to the hunting part of the story, Les says, "The Les said the better!" But the prowess - Jerry got a moose! Doc got a deer! ; Les got a bad cold! Which is about what could be expected.
