SCHELLACK, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW- JOURNAL, a daily newspaper, of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of Two (2) insertions from January 24, 1957 to January 31, 1957 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the following dates, to-wit: January 24, 31, 1957. SCHELLACK Subscribed and sworn to before me this 31st day of January, 1957 s/ NEOLA GIERHART NOTARY PUBLIC IN AND FOR CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA My Commission Expires April l4, 1958 ORDINANCE NO. 732 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 7, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 728, BY PROHIBITING THE PLACING OF WRITTEN ADVERTISEMENTS UPON STRUCTURES ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY; PROVIDING CERTAIN EXCEPTIONS THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 1, Chapter 7, the Code of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, as amended by Ordinance No. 728, is hereby amended to read as follows: It shall be unlawful for any person to paste, print or in any manner whatsoever place or attach to any building, fence, gate, bridge, rock, tree, board, sidewalk, curb, telephone pole, electric light pole or other utility pole, or any other type of structure whatsoever within the right-of-way of any highway, street or alley, any written, printed, painted or other outdoor advertisement, bill, notice, sign, picture, card or poster; provided, however, the prohibitions hereinabove set forth shall not apply to the placement of advertising matter on benches maintained within the public right-of-way at bus stops throughout the City pursuant to permit issued by the Board of City Commissioners. SECTION 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, add on conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00, and/or six (6) months in jail, or by a combination of both such fine and imprisonment. SECTION 4. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks Immediately following its first reading and adoption in a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
