AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 462 ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING REGISTRATION WITH THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE FINGERPRINTING, THUMBPRINTING, AND PHOTOGRAPHING OF ALL EMPLOYEES OF GAMBLING HOUSES, TAXI DRIVERS, AND EMPLOYEES OF ESTABLISHMENTS WHERE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE SOLD AT RETAIL ON THE PREMISES AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR A VIOLATION 0F THIS ORDINANCE, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 305, ALSO REFERRED TO AS CHAPTER 27 OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH," BY FURTHER DEFINING EMPLOYEES COVERED; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO AND REPEALING SUBPARAGRAPHS (a) AND (b) OF SECTION 2, ORDINANCE NO. 462. The Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 2, Subparagraph (a) of Ordinance No. 462 is hereby amended to read as follows: (A) "Employees of Gambling Houses" shall mean all dealers, shills, greeters, any other person receiving a salary or percentage of profit from a gambling game or a gambling house (except slot machines, pin ball machines, and any other mechanically operated game where no attendant is required) as such games are defined in Section 3, Chapter 13, Code of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1949, excluding stockholders who have no direct control of said operation. SECTION 2. Section 2, Subparagraph (b) of Ordinance No. 462 is hereby amended to read as follows: (B) "Employees of Establishments Where Alcoholic Beverages Are Sold At Retail on the Premises" shall mean bartenders, bus boys, bar managers, waiters and waitresses, and any other persons who serve alcoholic beverages to patrons for consumption on the premises. SECTION 3. Subparagraphs (a) and (b) of Ordinance No. 1+62, and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its publication as in the next section provided, and final passage. SECTION 5. The City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this Ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its first reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in the City of Las Vegas.
